The course deals with the material of historical geography of Croatia, closely related to the modern Science of history. Geography as a science is focused on the study of the Earth's surface with a focus on the processes that shape the landscape, and historical geography, as its integral part, studies the changes of landscape through time. The influences of various preocesses are especially visible through the changes of the cultural landscape that is shaped through activities of human society and civilization. Through the study of changes of Croatian geography students are familiarized with the use of historical geographical knowledge through analysis of cultural landscape during the relevant periods of historical development. In this way, students expand their current knowledge and become familiar with historical geographical aspect in the study of historical knowledge, as well as the geographic development of the Croatian territory throughout history.
