On Thursday, October 7, 2021, a formal and constituting session of the Council of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences was held in the presence of employees, teachers, professors emeritus and other guests. On this occasion, the following awards were presented to:

Student Maja Klarić won the 2nd prize in creative writing competition called Dante. Dal Canto V ad oggi
The Italian Institute of Culture in Zagreb organized a competition in creative writing called Dante. Dal canto V ad oggi for primary and secondary schools and students of Croatian universities. Students of the Departments of Italian language and literature in Zagreb, Split, Zadar, Rijeka and Pula participated in the competition. Congratulations to our student Maja Klarić , who won the 2nd prize in creative writing on the topic: Lettera a Reverendo Frate Gennari , as well as to her mentors Cinzia Guardigli and Maja Bilić!         

Research/International Cooperation

Visit of a delegation from the San Leone Magno Institute in Rome
On 5th November 2021, a delegation from the Cambridge Institute San Leone Magno in Rome, with whom the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences has signed a cooperation agreement, visited the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The delegation consisted of the Director of the Institute, Fr. Roberto Moraglia, the Head of Curricula and Foreign Language Learning Programs, Prof. Alessandra Spagna, and Ana Plavša, PhD. They were greeted by the Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor Gloria Vickov, PhD, and the Vice-Dean for Science and International Cooperation, Associate Professor Antonela Marić, PhD. The delegation also met with other representatives and teachers at the Faculty. At a meeting with student representatives, which was organized with the aim of exchanging experiences and gaining a better insight into the possibility of internships conducted across an international teaching base, the possibility of longer and shorter internships was especially emphasized, as well as the possibility of getting to know European aspects of learning and teaching. Students will have the opportunity to receive an Erasmus+ scholarship for the purpose of professional practice for a period of 6 to 12 months, while World of Work Experience Erasmus+ scholarships for professional practice in an international teaching base last up to 2 months.

Improving the Inclusiveness of the Initial Education of the Educators of Early and Preschool Children
As part of a project entitled "Improving the Inclusiveness of the Initial Education of the Educators of Early and Preschool Teachers," carried out by UNICEF and the Faculty of Teacher Education in Zagreb, with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Split as partner institute with three other Croatian universities, a publication was produced, entitled:  Analysis of study programs for the initial education of early and preschool educators.     
Visit of the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany
Dr. Robert Klinke, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Republic of Croatia and Spokesman for the Press and Politics of the Embassy of the Republic of Germany in Zagreb, dr. Boris Stamenić, visited the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences on October 27, 2021.

International Scientific Conference Mediterranean as an Identity Determinant: Language, Literature, Culture and New Media
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split and the Department of Croatian Language and Literature are organizing the international scientific conference Mediterranean as an Identity Determinant: Language, Literature, Culture and New Media on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the founding of the Croatian Language and Literature study programme.
Presentation of the book Theater in Split and Split in Theater
The formal presentation of the Collection of the scientific-professional conference on Anatoli Kudjavcev, entitled Theater in Split and Split in Theater (eds. Magdalena Nigoević and Tea Rogić Musa) will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at 17:00 in the lobby of the Croatian National Theater in Split. Apart from the editors, associate professor Antonela Marić, Vice Dean for Science and International Cooperation of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, full professor Sanja Vulić, associate professor Gordana Galić Kakkonen, and Jasen Boko will also speak about the Collection.
