Course objectives:
Course objectives are to develop students' interest and skills in preserving Croatian organic idioms; to acquaint them with the linguistic principles of genesis as well as linguistic characteristics of the three Croatian dialects. In addition, the objective is to develop students positive attitude towards the dialect idiom and its vocabulary, i.e. to encourage them to expand their knowledge and to make their own research of the Croatian language and it is three dialect nature.
Course content:
1. Introduction: course content and proposal, student responsibilities, seminar structure
2. Science of Croatian dialectology; terminology; three-dialect of Croatian language
3. The Chakavian dialect: boundaries then and today; interrogative pronoun ča, phonological linguistic characteristics

Format of instruction: lectures, seminars and workshops, independent assignments, consultations.
Student responsibilities:
Students are required to:
1. Participate in the teaching process (80 % of lectures and 80 % of seminar papers)
2. Behave in accordance with ethical and scientific principles in higher education process
3. Prepare and present a seminar paper according to pre-determined criteria
4. Pass colloquia (three mid-term exams) during the teaching process or written exam
5. Pass the oral part of the exam.
Grading and evaluating student work in class and at the final exam:
In accordance with the stated learning outcomes and the obligations of students in the course, the final assessment is based on the following elements:
1. Passed mid-term exams (or written exam): 50 %
2. Written and presented seminar paper: 25 %
3. Passed the oral part of the exam: 25 %
