Description:
|
The students are going to learn about the long and complex history of the Italian theatre, from the 10th century onwards. The students are going to learn about the rich repertoire of commedia dell'arte and other phenomenon, represented both by the so called "minor" authors, and by the classics, as well. By comparing the works of most eminent Italian authors like Machiavelli, Ariosto, Ruzante, Alfieri, Goldoni, D?Annunzio and Pirandello, the students will be able to recognize the influence and characteristics of the Italian theatre and analyse its comparative advantages in relation to other European, and world renown authors. The students are going to gain insight in the complexity of Italian drama and its complex role in the development of the civil society in general.
